Detect to Decide
A camera on real hardware, a surveyed range, and an unbroken chain from photons to a commanded assignment. The system left the simulation and made its first real-world call.
Until this point, every number The Owl produced was sim-validated. The bench changed the provenance of the input: a live camera on a surveyed six-metre range, real frames, real uncertainty. The chain is the same one the simulation runs — ingest, fusion, classification posterior, threat evaluation, allocation — but now the readings are photons, not a preset.
What the first real call proved is narrow and honest: detection to decision, on real hardware, with the reason on the wire. Classification is camera-only. The intercept is commanded, not flown — telemetry reads COMMANDED, never mistaken for a real effector return. And the raid is recorded end to end, replayable — so the first real-world decision is also the first auditable one.
Sim-validated logic, now fed by real readings. Field-proven nowhere yet — and we say so.
